MYNIC has revealed updates to the .MY domain name policy regarding the lifecycle of .MY domain names.
The billing cycle for .MY domains applies to all .MY domain names, including premium domains. The registration process follows a first-come, first-served system, permitting you to register domain names for a minimum of 1 year up to a maximum of 10 years. Please check the specific requirements for each extension.
You can verify .MY domain name availability on the your provider website. Standard pricing applies to regular domain names. your provider holds the right to either refund or request an additional payment for premium domains.
Registered Period
Throughout the registration period, your domain stays active, allowing you to update contact details, change registrants, transfer registrars, and adjust name servers.
To keep the domain active, ensure it is renewed before the expiration date. This guarantees that your website remains accessible and your email services operate smoothly. Domains can be renewed for a period between 1 to 10 years, depending on the remaining eligibility period. For help with renewals, contact us at billing@your provider.my.
Auto-Renew Period
Following a domain name’s expiration, it will enter a 40-day Auto-Renew Grace Period. During this time, you can renew the domain name at the standard rate.
Redemption PeriodIf payment is not made during the Auto-Renew Grace Period, the domain will transition into a 30-day Redemption period. During this phase, you can redeem and renew the domain at nearly double the normal price. (Renewal Fee + Redemption Fee)
Pending Delete Period
Once the Redemption Period has concluded, your domain will move into a 5-day Pending Delete period before being made available to the public.
Renewal and Billingyour provider sends out invoices 45 days prior to your domain’s expiration date, followed by multiple payment reminders to facilitate timely renewal. It is advisable to renew early to secure your domain and prevent service interruptions.
